Sustainable Events Coming to our Community
This month, our regional government partners are hosting two environmentally friendly events in Brea. Caltrans is offering free paper shredding services to Orange County residents on Saturday, March 25 in the Wildcatters Park parking lot. Clear your clutter and keep your confidential information safe by having your documents shredded at no cost. No appointment is necessary and up to four boxes of documents per person will be accepted. This event is first-come, first-serve and we will accept items from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. or until capacity is reached, whichever is first. Please plan to arrive early and enter right into the parking lot on E. Santa Fe Rd. via Valencia Ave. For questions, email christianne.smith@dot.ca.gov. OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) is excited to host a free compost giveaway at Valencia Greenery (Olinda Alpha Landfill). Orange County residents can pick up free compost on Saturday, April 1, between 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. while supplies last. The event will cancel due to inclement weather, follow @OCWaste on social media for day-of updates. Each household will be limited to 60 gallons on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. At Valencia Greenery, pre-filled bags of compost will be distributed, and each household will be limited to 4 bags, while supplies last.
