Overnight Parking in City-Owned Lots and Streets is Prohibited
For safety and aesthetic purposes, parking overnight on public streets and City-owned park lots, commercial parking lots, and structures is prohibited. Per City Code, overnight parking is prohibited on City streets, structures, and lots from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. In City park lots, overnight parking is prohibited from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The City is currently reviewing the parking requirements at Arovista Park and the west parking lot at Wildcatters Park. Therefore, those specific parking lots will remain unaffected at this time. The City of Brea understands that many residents may have limited parking options. As a result, street sweeping enforcement has been suspended until further notice, and permits are available for overnight parking on city streets (subject to criteria). Questions about parking permits can be directed to 714-671-4406 or breaparkingpermits@cityofbrea.net. The Brea Police Department is proactively enforcing overnight parking. For questions related to enforcement, please contact the Brea Police Department at 714-990-7625.

May is Older Americans Month
Older adults play vital, positive roles in our communities. They are our family members, friends, mentors, volunteers, civic leaders, members of the workforce, and more. Just as every person in unique, so too is how they age and how they chose to do it. There is no “right” way! That is why the theme for this year’s Older Americans Month is Age My Way. It is an opportunity for everyone to explore the many ways older adults can remain in and be involved in their communities. Visit the Brea Senior Center to find ways to get more involved in Brea.

Coyote Awareness & Reporting Coyotes are more prevalent in the community this time of year due to breeding season. For the most part, coyotes coexist well within the urban environment and will not affect our daily lives. The best way to minimize the presence of coyotes, and protect against pet losses, is to report them and take precautions.
