[ARCHIVED] Tickets on Sale for Brea Youth Theatre's Bye Bye Birdie July 5

Bye Bye Birdie, the classic musical comedy set in 1958, tells the story of singer Conrad Birdie who has just been drafted in the US Army, mirroring the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. His agent books a farewell performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” to promote Birdie’s latest song “One Last Kiss” and save their record company. To top off the performance, Birdie will give “one last kiss” to his biggest fan. Plans soon start to unravel with comedic results set to toe-tapping music, including “Put on a Happy Face,” “A Lot of Living to Do” and “One Last Kiss.”

Young performers, ages 5 through 18, bring enthusiasm and talent to this youth theatre reprisal of the original 1961 Tony Award winner. Brea’s Youth Theatre, celebrating its 25th year of bringing art to Brea, delivers a high-energy musical guaranteed to be a fun-filled outing for the entire family.

Bye Bye Birdie runs for three consecutive weekends: July 15-17, 22-24, and 29-31. Performances are Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sundays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are only $15 each. Opening Gala and Red Carpet walk Friday July 15 and Saturday June, 16. Call (714) 990-7722 for more information.
