The State of California has issued an emergency order in response to ongoing drought conditions. The City of Brea passed a water conservation ordinance in 2009 and has operated under Phase 1 since that time. More changes can be expected as summer is near.
Meetings are currently underway at the State level to determine additional restrictions. Meanwhile, in Orange County, local jurisdictions and water agencies are also meeting and coordinating efforts. Long-standing rebate programs and educational resources remain available through the Metropolitan Water District of Orange County. These opportunities will continue to be shared with Brea residents and businesses, who are to be thanked for their continued good efforts to conserve.
