Brea teens still have time to make a difference in their community and receive recognition for their efforts. This year’s deadline to turn in Mayor’s Youth Award tracking forms, and to be considered for the award, is Thursday, May 1 at the Brea Family Resource Center.
This award program is for high school students residing in Brea, including those attending Brea Olinda High School, Brea Canyon High School, Sonora High School, Troy High School, El Dorado High School and any private or home school. Juniors who have met the service criteria, 120 hours of community service, will receive a letter from the Mayor, which documents their service, to submit with college or job applications. Seniors who meet the service criteria, 160 hours of community service, will be presented with a medallion at their Senior Awards Night and receive special recognition by the City of Brea.
