On June 1, 2020 Southern California Edison (SCE) will be replacing over 200 existing street light lamps with new high efficient lights in the neighborhood tracts, boundary areas and other various locations listed below. The construction project consists of SCE installing energy efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) street lights in place of the current High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights. In 2011, the City of Brea replaced or retrofitted all City-owned street lights as part of the Brea Energy Efficiency and Solar Project. The remaining street lights being converted as part of this project are owned by SCE and were not part of the City’s project. By completing this installation project, all street lights in the City of Brea will be LED and energy efficient. The construction is anticipated to last two days and the impacts will be minimal. SCE trucks and crews will be working on the street lights at project sites. Neighborhood streets will not be blocked and there are no anticipated noise impacts.
