Raise your level of preparedness to protect our neighborhoods in the event of a natural disaster or hazard by joining the Brea CERT program! In Brea, several neighborhood teams of volunteers now provide a measure of service that improves safety for the community. The Brea Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

CERT training is provided using a nationally recognized 20-hour curriculum approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. With training learned in the classroom during practical exercises, CERT members will be able to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace in an event when emergency responders are not immediately available to assist. In Brea, hundreds have taken the extra step to raise their level of preparedness.

The training is provided free of charge, but pre-registration is required for each class. Classes begin on Tuesday, February 11.. Sign up early as registration is on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of applicants accepted.
