[ARCHIVED] City of Brea Public Assembly Guidelines

The City of Brea recommends that organizers planning a public assembly (of approximately 25 people or more) inform the City in advance of the event in order to  maximize its success. By providing the City with advanced notice (two weeks requested), the City can assist by providing support services (e.g. Public Safety, Public Works, Health & Safety), as needed to ensure a safe and lawful assembly. It's important to provide public information of such gatherings to our community as a planning tool and as a courtesy to our residents and businesses.  The right to peacefully demonstrate is afforded to all persons and protected by the First Amendment. This constitutional privilege, however, does not permit demonstrators to disregard local health and safety laws.  It is the responsibility of the organizers to understand and comply with related state laws and city codes. By giving the City advanced notice,  costly  missteps can be avoided

To easily inform the City of Brea with details for your planned public assembly, please fill out a form here.
