Caltrans, in cooperation with the City of Brea, will be making improvements to SR 57 and Lambert Road Interchange to improve traffic operations. As part of this project, the two agencies are evaluating noise barriers on the southbound side of SR 57 south of Lambert. Property owners and non-owner residents in the adjacent neighborhood were mailed a brief survey, map and letter regarding the upcoming information meeting:
Noise Barrier Meeting
6 p.m., Wednesday, August 15
Brea Civic & Cultural Center
#1 Civic Center Circle
Community Room B, 2nd Floor
If you are in the impacted neighborhood, please complete the survey using the return envelope that you received in the mail by August 20. You may also bring the completed survey to the meeting. Decisions about potential noise barriers/soundwalls will be made based on the majority of votes received. So, it is very important that you share your viewpoint.
If you are not part of the impacted area, but generally interested in the project, you may still attend the public meeting.
The SR 57/Lambert road improvements include configuration of a loop on-ramp for the northbound SR-57, realignment of the northbound off-ramp at the Lambert Road intersection, addition of a third receiving lane to the southbound on-ramp at the intersection with Lambert Road that merges to one lane as it approaches SR-57, widening of the south side of Lambert Road from State College Blvd. to the new loop on-ramp, lowering the Lambert Road profile between the southbound on-ramp/Lambert Road intersection and the new northbound off-ramp/Lambert Road intersection, widening the southbound SR-57 median shoulder, and reconfiguring the southbound SR-57 off-ramp from a single lane to a two-lane off-ramp with an auxiliary lane on southbound SR-57. The ramp would be widened to provide a fourth lane as the ramp approaches Lambert Road.
