[ARCHIVED] Provide Input for OCTA Long Range Transportation Plan

A broad effort to establish priority projects for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is getting underway. The opinions of constituents will help inform future projects. Your participation is highly encouraged in a survey that is currently accepting responses.

OCTA hopes to improve performance of the county's transportation system and to expand choices for mobility with good planning for future projects. The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) which is being developed now will evaluate and coordinate current initiatives and define new projects where expenditures would be targeted. A draft report will be issued in Spring 2018 with the final document to be issued in Fall 2018

Projections of the potential impacts if nothing is done offer a sober scenario. In the period from 2015 to 2040, the population, housing units and employment opportunities in the County will likely increase in the range of 10% to 17%. Meanwhile, traffic congestion delays could increase by about 66% without any new investment to expand transportation capacity.

Please, take a few minutes and respond to the survey to make your priorities known.
