[ARCHIVED] Time to Register for After School Program

Brea’s 2017-18 After School Program is a popular, and very affordable option for quality after school care that begins on August 29. It is based at the Brea Community Center from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with a start time of 1:30 on early release days. Students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade are accommodated in the program.

Daily programming varies to capture diverse interests and direct kids’ energy into positive activities. Participants enjoy gym time, arts and crafts projects, a game room, special interest clubs and presentations, and themed weeks. An in-house café offers nutritious snacks at affordable prices. Plus, a daily study hall helps kids get homework underway. All of this is under the supervision of trained staff keeping children safe and engaged each day.

There are also some spaces available for van rides from some of the school sites to the ASP program. Contact the Brea Resource Center for an application and eligibility criteria at 714-990-7150.

For students in grades 7 through 12, the separate Teen Zone has a dedicated activity area. Programming reflects older interests and the participants are engaged in planning their own events.

Visit the Brea Community Center to enroll in person for either of these programs. Payment plans are available with a small processing fee.
