[ARCHIVED] Fireworks and Fire Season Are a Bad Combo; Fireworks Are Prohibited in Brea

A study of the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) shows that more than 200 people, on average, go to the emergency room everyday in July with fireworks-related injuries, Please avoid the temptation to set off fireworks and leave it to the professionals.

In addition to being potentially hazardous, all fireworks (even the "safe & sane" variety) are prohibited in Brea.  Both the Brea Police Department and the Brea Fire Department will be patrolling for illegal fireworks to help keep the community safe.  While enjoying a day with friends and family, please keep the following tips in mind:

1.  Fireworks are prohibited within the City of Brea.
2.  Alcohol consumption in public places is prohibited.
3.  Remember to make necessary preparations for your animals, who may be startled by        nearby fireworks shows.
