The Brea Gallery hosts a variety of events throughout the year including opening receptions for each exhibition, artist in residence programs, the annual Watercolor West demonstration series, and more!

Opening Receptions
Each of our four exhibitions gets kicked off with a big, FREE party that features live music, light refreshments, drinks, and an opportunity to meet exhibiting artists. The first opportunity to see each exhibition, these special evenings are fun for the whole family and draw anywhere from 300 to 1,000 visitors.

Fresh{AIR}: Artist in Residence Program
In our new artist in residence program, started in 2017, the Gallery hosts two artists for a weekend during each exhibition. This informal residency allows artists to create new works within the Gallery, while engaging with visitors, sharing insight and inspiration, and answering questions asked by viewers watching the live stream of the event from home. These family friendly events are free with general admission.

Brea Fest
The third Friday of August, the Gallery participates in Brea Fest - a family friendly food festival that supports the arts in Brea. The event features food from over 35 local restaurants, live music, kids activities, performances in the Curtis Theatre, a Gallery exhibition, and live artist demonstrations.

Watercolor West Demonstration Series
Every year, the Watercolor West organization brings their annual international exhibition and accompanying demonstration and lecture series to the Brea Gallery. The five part series takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from September to December, featuring renowned watercolor painters from all over the country. Each demo is $25, or $100 for the whole series.
