Barking Dogs Ordinance
The Brea City Council has approved an ordinance using a more proactive strategy for the problem of nuisance barking dogs. New rules expedite action and create opportunities for re-training of both owners and pets.

Body-Worn and In-Car Camera Systems
A body-worn, in-car camera, and digital evidence storage system was implemented in October 2021 as part of an ongoing effort to provide community-orientated police services to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the city of Brea. This complete and comprehensive system allows the Brea Police Department to not only deploy the use of body and in-car cameras but also utilize redaction software and maintain digital evidence storage, which will aid with investigations, incident and interaction documentation, and ongoing officer training. The financial estimate of $993,075.08 for a five-year contract with Motorola Solutions was approved by Brea City Council on February 2, 2021.

Citation Information
The North Justice Center generally mails recipients of traffic citations courtesy notices advising of bail amounts and or traffic school eligibility. Failure to appear and/or pay your fines by the listed court date may result in suspension of your drivers license and a warrant issued for your arrest. Parking citations must be paid or you may request an administrative review within 21 days from the issue date of the citation.

City of Brea Truck Routes
The Brea Police Department is asking that truck drivers utilize designated truck routes through the City of Brea when driving through the city. These truck routes are designed to allow large and heavy vehicles to safely maneuver through Brea and to limit wear and tear to the city streets due to vehicle weight.

Overnight Parking
The Brea Police Department actively enforces the City's Overnight Parking Ordinance to enhance community safety. The ordinance prohibits on-street parking on public streets for more than 30 minutes between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Vehicle Storage / Impound
All vehicles require a release obtained from the front counter of the Brea Police Department, as well as a fee of $100 cash, credit cards, cashiers check, or money order payable to the City of Brea. Checks are not accepted. Vehicles are only released to the registered or legal owners of the vehicle, and this person must have a valid driver's license.
