The City of Art

The Brea community takes pride in its image as a City of Art. Brea is host to the Curtis Theatre, a Performing Arts Theatre, an Arts in Public Places Outdoor Sculpture Collection, and the Brea Art Gallery. By including art throughout the city, Brea has earned its reputation as one of North Orange County’s premiere cultural venues.

Art in Public Places

Brea’s Art in Public Places began in 1975 and was designed to integrate public art with private development. This nation162 - Flora and Faunaally recognized program now includes over 185 sculptures, all in public view throughout the city. The Art in Public Places program features a wide range of mediums, styles, and approaches by local, national, and internationally renowned artists.

The Brea Gallery 

The Brea Gallery, established in 1980, is a community-based art space that strives to provide ambitious contemporary art exhibitions for Brea and beyond. The Gallery aims to enrich and engage the community through educational, aesthetic, and intellect20220825_094552-01ual experiences, all while cultivating meaningful relationships with artists. The Gallery hosts four major exhibitions per year as well as a wide variety of workshops and programming.

The Curtis Theatre, also located in the Civic Center, is a 199-seat professional theatre offering a wide range of entertainmPeter and the Starcatcher Castent, including music, dance, drama, and children’s theatre, by a variety of local and visiting groups. Box Office hours are:
