Community Engagement

The Brea Police Department makes it a priority to participate in a wide variety of community events, as the wellbeing of the community is at the heart of our mission. We provide safety information and resources, connect with Breans by interacting with them in more informal settings, and serve our community with activities such as Business Watch, Commercial Video Partners, Coffee with a Cop, National Night Out, Neighborhood Watch, Pay it Forward Patrol, Ride-alongs, and Shop with a Cop.

Community Outreach Bureau

The Community Outreach Bureau consists of the Downtown Liaison Officer (DLO), the Homeless Liaison Officer (HLO), and the School Resource Officer (SRO), all of which are under the direct supervision of one Lieutenant. This unit allows the police department greater flexibility and responsiveness to meet our community's needs. These officers, while maintaining their primary responsibilities, are cross-trained in one another's assignments and partner together as a team, assisting each other as the demands of their roles fluctuate. The Community Outreach Bureau is often present at community events, engaging with the public on a regular basis. They not only respond to incidents but also focus on education and building strong working relationships with community members.
