Using the Guide

This guide is designed to provide you with the general information you need in order to develop in the City of Brea. It is our intent to make the sometimes complex development process easier by taking you through it step by step.

Whether you’re a first time developer, just new to Brea, or an experienced developer planning a different type of development, we think you will find this guide helpful. Requirements for constructing a new building, expanding or renovating an existing structure, or opening a new business in an existing building are covered in this manual.

Personal Assistance

Brea’s professional staff is prepared to provide you with personal assistance and any guidance you may need. In fact, once you’ve submitted your application and begin the plan review process, a project leader will be assigned to your project. He or she will serve as your liaison helping to expedite the permit process and coordinate any department reviews that may be required.
