The Brea City Council approved fees on October 1, 2018, (Resolution No. 2018-053) for many city provided inspection and permit services. Listed below are the cost recovery fees that can be found in the approved fee schedule.
Hourly Rates New Construction/ Tenant Improvement
- Plan Check Rate (2 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour
- After Hours Plan Check Rate (2 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour ** based on availability of staff **
- Expedited Plan Check (1 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour ** based on availability of staff **
- Inspection Rate (2 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour
- After Hours Inspection Rate (2 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour ** based on availability of staff **
- Additional Re-inspection (1 Hour Minimum) - $119 / hour
Fire & Life Safety Inspection/Residential Care Facility Pre-Inspection
- $120 - Minimum Inspection for Small Businesses (4,999 sq. ft. or less)
- Each additional hour - $119 / hour
- $180 - Minimum Inspection for Large Businesses (5.000 sq. ft. or more)
- Each additional hour - $119 / hour
Fire Department Permit Fees
- Special Event/Temporary Use Permit - $69
- Special Event Inspection Fee - $119 / hour
- Annual Fire Permit (Category II) - $187 new permit
