One Ton Challenge

With small changes like turning off unneeded lights, recycling or shopping with reusable bags, you can do your part in reducing your carbon footprint. The goal of this challenge is to reduce 167 pounds of carbon emissions in one month. If continued for one year, it would equal to a one ton savings.
City Manager Comments on Green Life, Green Brea
City managers are in a position as stewards of good initiatives. Pressures have increased to comply with mandates from Federal and State authorities for sustainable practices environmental. Brea celebrated the completion of its Energy Efficiency and Solar Power Project at a dedication ceremony on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Civic & Cultural Center. The City is currently the largest producer of solar power in Orange County.
