Surf + Skate = Culture
Underground currents have rippled to the surface in modern trends that can be discovered at a new exhibit coming to the Brea Gallery. Surf + Skate = Culture runs from August 7 and continues on display through September 10. The exhibit opens at a free public reception, complete with a surf band, on Saturday evening, August 7, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Surf + Skate = Culture examines the impact of surfing and skateboarding on contemporary society through artifacts and art. Highbrow and lowbrow cultures have met to become one cohesive style. This exhibit promises to be playful and vivid with a youthful vibe that will translate to all ages. 

The City of Brea Gallery is located in the Brea Civic & Cultural Center at 1 Civic Center Circle, Plaza Level. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m., closed Monday, Tuesday and holidays.
