The City of Brea welcomes review of its budget. Government finance is a complex subject and oversight happens at a number of levels. Public education on this subject requires a diligent and consistent effort.
The Brea City Council held a public hearing, heard staff presentations and approved a balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 at their meeting on June 19, 2012.
Active, innovative projects and consistently balanced budgets are evidence of a vital city that continues to progress even during an economic downturn. We are certainly proud of what we have accomplished in the past year despite continued recessionary times.
Capital Improvement Program Budget
Various funding sources are used to meet public works needs. These are carefully planned and closely monitored through Brea's 7-Year Comprehensive Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget.

The City produces the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) on an annual basis. This report contains Brea’s audited financial statements and a statistical section, as well as Management’s Discussion and Analysis of the fiscal year reported.
