History of the Curtis Theatre
Curtis Theatre ExteriorIn the late 1970’s, the Civic and Cultural Center, as we know it today, was not in existence. Brea was still using the old City Hall on Brea Blvd. for its daily operations. Under the guidance of Mayor Wayne Wedin, the city undertook the colossal project of building the new civic center. Mayor Wedin, being a forward thinking politician, as well as being committed to enhancing Brea with the inclusion of the arts, sought community input on what services should be included in the new civic center.
