As part of the City of Brea, the Curtis Theatre has been a cultural force in the Orange County arts community for nearly 30 years. Operating with the support of the City’s Cultural Arts Commission, The Curtis Theatre presents and produces an annual season of live performance which offers the best in local and national artists, and is the proud home to Stagelight Productions and Brea’s Youth Theatre Program. Outside of its regular season, the Curtis plays host to a variety of award-winning vocal ensembles, dance companies and non-profit arts organizations through its Theatre Rental Program.

The original play, Tales from the Canyon: The Olinda Story, was staged in 2009 by Brea’s Curtis Theatre as a project under the California Stories Initiative. This performance was filmed and is now available for purchase on DVD, with all proceeds supporting the Olinda Oil Museum and Trail.

Located in the Brea Civic & Cultural Center, just off the 57-freeway, the 199-seat performing arts venue is very close to a wide variety of great restaurants, plus the Brea Mall and Brea Downtown. The Curtis Theatre is wheelchair accessible. Parking is free.
