Low and Moderate Income Rental Programs

Low and Moderate Income Rent Programs

The Economic Development Division has provided financial assistance to many housing developments in Brea in order to establish rent-restricted programs throughout the City. A waiting list has been established for each of these programs, with income and rent guidelines which differ from complex to complex.

The City maintains the waiting lists for the following apartment complexes:

Acacia Apartments
Birch Street Lofts
Birch Terrace Apartments
Bonterra Apartment Homes
Breal Senior Apartments
Imperial Park Apartments
Pointe Apartments
South Walnut Bungalows
Town & Country Apartments
Tamarack Pointe Villas

Birch Hills Apartments - Coming Summer 2013 - 115 Extremely-Low to Low-Income Units, located at 255 Kraemer Circle adjacent to the Birch Hills Golf Course.  Note:  If you are already on the Low & Moderate Income Rent Program waiting list, DO NOT submit another application.  All applicants currently on the waiting list will be considered for these apartments.

T
he maximum allowable income and current rent varies at each of the participating complexes (click here for details).  Although no minimum incomes are listed, if your income is too low, you may not be eligible to rent a particular unit.  Most apartments require that your monthly income be 2-3 times the amount of the monthly rent.

To get your name on the waiting list for any of these complexes, you must complete and return an application to the City of Brea (click here for the application).  If you would prefer to have an application mailed to you, call (714) 671-3622.

NOTE: We cannot provide you with information as to your position on any waiting list.  Additionally, we are unable to estimate how long you will be waiting for a unit. There are NO openings until a tenant who is participating in a program moves out.

The following complexes maintain their own waiting lists for their rent-restricted programs. You must contact the manager at each complex for which you wish to be placed on the waiting list:
