Becoming a Volunteer

The City of Brea Art Gallery is pleased to provide the Brea community with valuable volunteer and internship opportunities. Help us make a difference by engaging our visitors and enhancing civic pride. Volunteer opportunities include construction, research, art education and docent positions. Internships are available for those interested in marketing, museum installation, and administration.

Here are a few helpful details of what to expect after submitting a volunteer application:

  • Although we accept volunteer and intern applications all year round, we only bring on new volunteers and interns every 3 to 4 months. Please know that once we have received your application, we keep it and all other applications on file and contact qualified applicants as new positions open up.
  • It could be a matter of just a few days or up to several months before you get called in for an interview, depending on when our last batch of volunteers was brought on. Please inform us if you are trying to fulfill an immediate requirement, as we may have to recommend another location for you to volunteer. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. 
  • Due to the level of work and training required to bring in a new volunteer at the gallery, we expect volunteer positions to last a minimum of 12 to 16 weeks. Additionally, we require that all volunteers commit to at least one regular 2-3 hour shift per week.
