Volunteer Opportunities
The City of Brea depends upon citizen participation and service. Citizen volunteers play a vital role in the conduct of governmental affairs and provide an important element in achieving the goals of the city. The left hand column lists Brea's commissions and committees. Please make a selection to learn more. 

Recruitment Period
Applications are now being accepted for an Unscheduled Vacancy on the Planning Commission. Those with relevant background and interest are encouraged to apply.

Submissions are due at the Brea City Clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016.

If you would like to be considered to serve, please complete an application. Applications will be reviewed by a council sub-committee. Following interviews, nominees are selected for acceptance by a formal vote of the entire council.

General Criteria
  • Must be a resident of Brea
  • Enthusiastic commitment to the betterment of the community
  • Oriented toward service to people and sensitive to their needs
  • Some knowledge and background in the areas of interest are advantageous, but not mandatory

    Understanding of the relationship with the City Council and the role of being an extension of the council
