Community Watch
Brea Police has launched a Community Watch Program. This newly revitalized program mobilizes volunteers in both residential and business communities who want make their community safer by working with members of the Brea Police Department.
Community Watch is based on the successful Neighborhood Watch program, which is one of the oldest and best known crime prevention concepts in North America. Neighbor helping neighbor is the approach at its most fundamental level.
Community Watch consists of both business and neighborhood watch components. Depending on the needs of the particular group Community Watch members may patrol the areas they represent, distribute crime prevention information, participate in regular meetings to discuss area issues, manage phone, text, and /or e-mail groups for quick dissemination of information, assist with emergency preparedness activities, conduct business assessments, etc.

• Achieve a greater sense of security, responsibility and personal control
• Provide volunteer support to Police Department
Are you interested in helping to keep your community safe? Brea Police Department is looking for community volunteers for its Community Watch program. If you are interested in starting a Community Watch group in your neighborhood or business center, please email your contact information to communitywatch@cityofbrea.net or leave a message at (714) 671-4499. Please also indicate if you would be willing to serve as a Block Captain, serving as the point of contact and coordinator for your particular group.
