Laura Ellis in Femme Fatale
Music, Movies and Mayhem
April 2
Saturday: 5 & 8 p.m.
Adult: $30 Senior: $26 Child: $23

Protégé of The Manhattan Transfer’s Alan Paul, Laura Ellis captures the rich tones and delivery of jazz greats in an original film-noir story of intrigue, double-cross, feminine wiles and fabulous songs. Fans know Laura Ellis from her appearances with the 50s vocal group, The Wonderelles, her TV soundtrack recordings and her celebrated CD Here Lies Love. Backed by her Jazz Noir band, Ms. Ellis sings in a voice filled with radiance and pure luster while film clips of the 1940's and 1950's, transport you back to the days of seedy lounges, gumshoes, and hapless guys, falling for the wrong dame. Songs like That Old Black Magic, Put the Blame on Mame, Temptation and more weave a musical tale of deception straight from the movie genre of Film Noir. A warm and intimate evening for lovers of jazz and classic film.
