Volunteer Opportunities in the Community
There are a number of non-profit agencies in Brea and the surrounding area that serve a variety of interests and needs. These groups seek on-going volunteer help. You will find them listed along with their phone numbers. Please call them directly to volunteer. (Please note this list is compiled for your convenience. The City of Brea is not involved in coordinating volunteers for these organization.)

Volunteers are needed to help pack food for area seniors and the needy on the first Monday of each month at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church.

Brea Historical Society (714) 256-2283
Brea's history is your heritage! Volunteer to work in the Historical Society's new building keeping the history of Brea alive.

Brea Branch Library (714) 671-1722
Volunteers 13 years and older are needed to re-shelf books and perform other library duties.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) (714) 619-5155
CASA of Orange County is a non-profit organization that trains community volunteers to serve as powerful mentors and advocates for our community's most severely abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Friends of the Brea Library (714) 671-1722
Do you have a few hours available during the day, if so, the Friends of the Brea Library are in need of people to work mornings in the Library Bookstore or volunteer to work in the library throughout the day registering patrons to use the computer and also keeping track of computer use.

Brea Senior Center (714) 990-7750
Use your time during the day to help others. Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to Brea's homebound elderly. Dependable, friendly volunteers are needed to pack food coolers and to deliver the food along the 4 different routes around Brea. Food delivery is Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. We need your help! Training is provided.

Why not drop by our school before work and help us with our reading? Volunteers are needed to assist 3rd and 4th grade students with their reading from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. We also have a Learn at Lunch Program on Monday through Friday. Spend your lunch time helping us with various types of schoolwork. Children in grades 1st through 6th are in need of assistance from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can choose the time you would like to help us. No experience or special skills needed.

Historical Docent
Join the team of dedicated local history enthusiasts who work as docents at the Olinda Historical Museum and Park. Docents help research exhibit materials, give tours and staff the museum. They work closely with the Rangers from California State Parks and the City of Brea. Call (714) 671-4447 for details.

Caring volunteers are needed to help children ages 3 to 4 years with classroom activities such as reading in English or Spanish, arts and crafts, and to supervise playground activities.

On you way to work why not stop by and assist a child one-on-one with reading? Your help is needed on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Or, spend your lunch time with us helping children in grades 1st through 6th with their homework. Lunch time schedule varies-- call to find out what time fits into your lunch schedule.
